The Hamburg ska-punk legend from St. Pauli, with their 10th studio album, fires off 10 grenades about the seriousness and silliness of
life, the kind you can otherwise only dream of these days in the cannon garden that is Germany. In cold times
Rantanplan focus on the essentials: the pack. Here there is running, barking, biting, eating and cuddling. That must be love
and so it should be. Sometimes a lightsaber helps too.

Anyone into well-made rock music with intelligent lyrics and charming horn sections can no longer
get past Rantanplan. This sound from Hamburg’s red-light district goes a good way towards saving rock’n’roll across these
unspeakably slick copy&paste production times. Recorded live and honestly bellowed from the soul. No
excessive frippery, sub-synthesizers, strings, percussion, fuss…

Guitar, bass, drums, vocals, trumpet, trombone, a bit of organ here and there, done. Anyone who can sit still to that needs
to see a doctor. The title of ska-punk band no. 1 is hereby successfully defended. The podium is gilded. One wishes for
more such “artists”. One is reminded of Ton Steine Scherben.
