The Waldgeister

Waldgeister Dornstadt e.V.

The events of Waldgeister Dornstadt e.V. have an important socio-cultural and identity-building significance in the Ries region. We create free space for encounters and exchange across every kind of dividing line, and in doing so we address all people – without distinction by gender, origin, sexual orientation, religion or social class. From this premise we derive our cultural self-image.

Cultural awareness and education

Through music events such as concerts and Wudzdog Open Air we offer a platform in particular to local artists and up-and-coming talent. Apart from bands of various musical styles, what we offer also extends to art, cabaret and workshops.

The latter are carefully selected by our “Cultural Awareness & Education Team”, on the one hand to ensure a cross-generational programme that appeals to small children as well as their grandparents. On the other hand we want to strike the balance of addressing current topics and passing on knowledge in the area of sustainability, without representing economic or political motives.

Culture before profit

As a non-profit association, Waldgeister Dornstadt e.V. operates without the intention of making a profit, but with the aim of covering its costs. Revenue serves to finance events on a cost-covering basis and to build up risk reserves. We see our cultural celebrations and gatherings as primal elements of human culture and establish a culture of celebration without the corresponding commercial constraints. At our events we pay attention to sustainability, so as not to overload the available space and to ensure safety. Our focus is therefore deliberately and intrinsically not on mass events and trend hypes.

Club life

Our club life is characterised by a constant striving for innovation and a wealth of ideas, in order to experience formative moments together with our participants at cultural activities. Our younger generation in particular learns the path from idea to realisation in terms of project planning. The diversity of young talent and experienced professionals not only lets us channel our potential in the best possible way, it also offers us the potential for sustainable growth of the association, arising from its attractiveness and the opportunities for development it presents.

From this derives our self-image that everyone feels jointly responsible for themselves and the people around them, and actively contributes to a positive experience.
