What would the history of German rock music be without Kraan? Without doubt not only incomplete, but above all poorer by one especially colourful, highly creative chapter.
From the start of their career Kraan devoted themselves to an exciting fusion of rock, jazz and ethnic influences and later added US mainstream and soul elements to their sound. They called their style, short and sweet, ´Wintrup Musik`, named after their home in the Teutoburg Forest.

Since early 2008 the long-felt wish to play more freely live again, in keeping with the abilities of the original members, has been realised. Since then
KRAAN consists of “only” the three founding members Peter Wolbrandt, Hellmut Hattler and Jan Fride Wolbrandt.

In 2021 (after a ten-year release break) the studio album “Sandglass” was released, and in 2024 a new work entitled “Zoup” appears.

So KRAAN’s story seems to continue unabated even after more than 50 years!
