TASHEENO

TASHEENO is a musical crossover project consisting of the musician and producer duo Paul Krackowizer (AT) & Felipe Ramos (CHL). The two met at local events in Linz/Austria. Felipe, who originally comes from Chile, had already made Austria the centre of his life back then. Later he also became the bassist of Paul’s band and in recent years they toured extensively, mostly as hired musicians, together with some very well-known artists from the Caribbean, Africa or the US (Stonebwoy, Wailing Souls, Junior Kelly, Konshens, Jah Mason, DextaDaps) all over Europe.

The musical production usually consists of 3 main elements: beat, brass & vocals. In most cases the beat is based on electronic house or techno-like drum patterns, combined with rhythms from South America and Africa, as well as the Caribbean. The instrumentation is mostly simple and often also draws on old samples from genres of the regions mentioned above. The brass section is used differently than expected and takes over the parts of synthesizers and loop stations, but can also provide the climax of a song or open solos; always supported by electronic sounds to colour the classic sound picture a little and present it more futuristically.
