Kabinett

Kabinett, an indie rock band from Mannheim, has distinguished itself since its founding at the end of 2019 through a dynamic and versatile sound. The musical idea behind Kabinett arose from the wish to create a synthesizer-driven indie and electro pop. Influences from funk, disco and rock quickly came in through all the band members, leading to a characteristic sound.

The smoky lead vocals of frontman Josê Sommer, paired with the band’s multi-part backing vocals, are an unmistakable hallmark. Instrumentally, Kabinett is characterised by the intensive use of synthesizers, driving basslines, complex drum beats and guitars that are at times spherical and experimental, at times catchy.
